General message format
Here the user may
select the default message type(s) used to send Message Pad
messages. Select Email, Task and/or SMS to set the default option
for message type. You may select more than one setting, and a
message of that type will be created by default when the message is
sent.
Check
Allow user to select type(s) for each message? to allow the user
to choose the message type at the time of creating the Message Pad
message. If not checked, the default settings will be used for each
message created.
Default
format for sent messages: Select the preferred
Message Pad message format.
The available format options are; HTML and Plain
Text.
Check
Allow user to select format for each message? to allow the user
to choose the message format at the time of creating the Message Pad
message. If not checked, the default format setting will be used for
each message created.
Check
Allow user to set message Date/Time? to allow the user
to change the default message date/time. This has been provided to
allow users, who transcribe messages from voicemail recordings and
wish to set the time the message was left and not when it was sent.
The sent
message and the posted item will still have the sent timestamp in
addition to this message left timestamp.
If this
setting is Off then Message Pad will timestamp messages in the
default manner.
Date/time format allows the user to specify whether the time
stamp is in 12 hour or 24 hour format.
Check
Request a read receipt for each Message Pad email message? will
ask the recipient to confirm receipt of the Message Pad email
message. The recipient may choose not to confirm so this should not
be used as a guarantee that the message has not been read if a
confirmation has not been received.

Post
to private / public
folder
For those users that are connected to a Microsoft Exchange server,
you have the option of posting a copy of your messages to a shared
folder so that other team members may view messages taken from all
members of the team. Therefore if a call comes into the office from
a colleague and they ask for any messages taken, any member of the
team may be able to view messages taken by all members of the team
and not just those taken themselves.
Access
security is controlled by standard Microsoft®
Exchange®
folder security. To configure and then post to a shared folder, the
Exchange administrator must provide you with shared access to that
folder.
